4-H Boone County Fair Dog Show
DOG SHOW – WEDNESDAY, JULY 16

Show: 6:00 p.m.
- Fair registration due on Showman App by June 27. Register HERE.
- The dog must be trained by the exhibitor, no professionally trained dogs.
- The exhibitor shall have possession of the dog by April 1 of the current year. Age of the exhibitor was his/her age on January 1 of the current year.
- Proper equipment must be used or exhibitor may face disqualification. Proper equipment consists of: Obedience: 6 foot leash and slip collar (metal or nylon); Junior Showmanship: proper size lead for size of dog.
- Dogs with AKC Obedience titles must compete in the next advanced class.
- Only one obedience class per dog. Only one showmanship class per person.
- All dogs must have proof of current immunization.
- Bitches in season may be shown at the end of their obedience class. Exhibitors should notify the judge or superintendent and keep their dogs away from the show ring until called by the judge. Dogs should be properly bathed and deodorized with anti-mating spray.
- Aggressive dogs may be dismissed at the judge’s discretion and/or superintendent.
- Members must provide their own equipment for Graduate Novice and upper classes.
- Showmanship classes will be judged as follows: 70% on handling, 10% on knowledge of dog, 10% on poise and appearance of exhibitor, 10% on grooming of dog.
- NEW! Dogs not exhibited in the dog show are not allowed around the dog show pens or arena.

400: Novice Obedience (1st year only)
401: Novice Obedience – 8-12 years old
402: Novice Obedience – 13 and up
403: Best Trick
404: Canine Knowledge Test
405: Rally Novice (1st year only)
406:Rally Novice, 8-12 years old
407: Rally Novice, 13 and up
408: Clover Kids Showmanship Experience (ages 5-7 who are currently enrolled in Clover Kids)
409: Junior Showmanship – 13 & Younger
410: Senior Showmanship – 14 & Over
411: Grooming—Long haired dogs (exhibitors of all ages)
412: Grooming—Short haired dogs (exhibitors of all ages)
413: Costume—Ribbon only
